I am a 5th generation native of Pawleys Island.  I attended St. Cyprian Catholic School and Waccamaw Elementary School and graduated from Georgetown High school in 1989.  After I graduated from The University of South Carolina with my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, I went to work as a chemist in industry.  I have worked in manufacturing as a quality control chemist, research and development as a engineering technician and in environmental as a laboratory technician.   After obtaining a variety of work experience as a chemist, I decided to enter the teaching profession.  I began my teaching career at Georgetown High.  This is my thirteenth year teaching and look forward to many more.   At Georgetown High I have served as prom coordinator, mentor teacher, School Improvement Council, ADEPT evaluator, Teacher of the Year, technology committee and Assistant Band Director. I have two boys.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, sewing, watching forensic science shows, attending church and tutoring in math and science.
